JOE PARKS GRAND REOPENING DATE RESCHEDULED
The Grand Reopening of the Joe Parks Athletic Complex has been rescheduled for Tuesday May 13, 2025, at 4:00 PM. The event will feature a ribbon cutting ceremony and Senior Night for our BHS Baseball and BHS Softball teams. BHS Baseball will play North Boone and BHS Softball will play Dixon. We hope to see you there.

Public Notice
Illinois law (Lawn Care Products Application and Notification Act) requires all school districts to notify students and staff when lawn care chemicals are being used in or around school facilities.
Please be aware that, weather permitting, weed control and fertilization of the Byron School District grounds, including athletic fields will be done on Saturday, April 26, and Sunday, April 27, 2025. This will not affect any games/activities that are taking place on the athletic fields on Saturday.
We are committed to minimizing the use of chemicals for weed control and lawn care, but at times, it is necessary for the proper maintenance of the facility. If you have any questions about the application of the lawn fertilizer, please contact the Director of Buildings and Grounds (815) 234-5491 Ext 4300.

BHS Parent Feedback Wanted
The Illinois 5Essentials Survey allows parents, teachers, and students to provide feedback on school effectiveness. The survey evaluates five key indicators linked to student success: Effective Leadership, Collaborative Teachers, Involved Families, Supportive Environment, and Ambitious Instruction.
Responses help improve schools, with confidentiality ensured. The survey is open until March 28, 2025 and both parents can fill out the survey. High school students and staff have already started filling out this survey during the school day.
