FFA Dairy Judging & Agronomy Results

For dairy judging, students identified cheese, scored milk samples, and determined real verses artificial dairy products. Byron Middle School took 2nd place in their division with Ashton Palmgren receiving 3rd place individual and Margaret Burrows receiving 4th place individual. The Byron FFA would like to thank The Cheese Market in Freeport, IL, for their support and supplying cheeses for practices.

Byron High School FFA was very successful at the Section 2 FFA Agronomy CDE. Participants in the Agronomy CDE must possess an in-depth knowledge of seeds, insects, soils and crops. They must also demonstrate skills in solving complex problems related to crop production. The team took 3rd place with Warner Hinrichs receiving 7th place individual and Olivia Ebens receiving 2nd place individual. The team now qualifies to compete at the state level.
