BHS Golf Team coached by Brent Baker along with assistant coach Quinn Virgil traveled to Bloomington Illinois in October to compete in State Golf Championship. The team placed 8th overall in the state of Illinois and raised $3450 for the Byron Schools Food Pantry.

Prior to departing for the State Competition, Coach Baker decided to create a fun challenge to raise money from each birdie the golfers made. Various families, individuals and organizations enthusiastically supported the challenge and donated either a set amount per birdie or a lump sum amount.

Donors included The Cave & Bub’s Pub, Specialty Floors, Newton Family, Dos Amigos, Rita Bradford, Knodle Family, Byron Bank, Schilling Family, Dawn Glassburn, Byron Lions Club, Byron Boosters and D&W Garage and more are continuing to donate daily.
