Honors selection: Maison Brandt, Kaci McKnight, Isaac Mondello, and Sophie Tucker

All-State selection: Denise Braithwaite.

Denise Braithwaite’s song that she wrote for the Chamber Choir, “Clear Skies”, was submitted to the ILMEA state composition contest.  She competed against schools like Glenbard West, Liberal Arts Academy, and Huntley.  The awarded 1,2,3rd place and she received Honorable Mention.  She will have the opportunity to take place in composition workshops and attend an awards ceremony while at the Illinois Music Educators All State.

We are also celebrating Sophie scoring number 1 in her section and getting selected to sing the National Anthem again down at All State where she could be selected to sing at one of the Basketball State series games.

Alaina Haas was the number 1 french horn in our district and has also been selected for the All- state band. She will have to audition again by Dec 17 for ensemble placement.

This is a huge honor for all of these music students. They've put in hours and hours of practice outside of class on this extremely difficult music. After the disappointment of last year's event being cancelled, this is a sweet reward for the hard work!
