Byron High School

USDA EXTENDS SUMMER MEALS PROGRAM

.  The intention of this Federal program is to ensure all children have access to nutritious food during the pandemic.  The program includes:

  • Allowing meals to be served in all areas and at no cost;
  • Permitting meals to be served outside of the typically-required group settings and meal times;
  • Waiving meal pattern requirements as necessary; and
  • Allowing parents and guardians to pick-up meals for their children.

We understand it is a very challenging time with the COVID-19 pandemic and that it is essential children have access to nutritious food.  As such, and in accordance with the USDA, Byron CUSD 226 will be offering meals daily to all children ages 18 and younger at no cost for the term of this program (Currently 12/31/20).  All students who are attending school in-person will automatically participate.  For children who are not in attendance, meals may be picked up from Byron High School door #9 (Aquatic Center Doors) between 12:00 – 12:30.  All meals available for pick up will align with the high school menu. If you would like to participate in the meal pickup, please notify Ms. VanBriesen via email at [email protected] by 9:00 am daily to ensure enough meals are prepared.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out via email or phone.
